(George De Bono, GM Sales ANZ, rhipe)

#RCS2016 is something I’ve used frequently over the last six weeks as I took to the road hosting the Australian series of the rhipe Cloud Summit. During March I visited Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney to meet and interact with an abundance of rhipe Partners, old and new.

The rhipe Cloud Summit is the premier cloud channel event for Asia Pacific and these four events were my first as GM Sales, ANZ at rhipe. I was constantly surprised and delighted not only by the turn out and breadth of partners at the event but also by the number of delegates who stayed to take in both the keynote presentations, and the breakout sessions; a clear sign that our message was resonating with the audience. Here are some of my RCS highlights:

The interaction of partners and the creation of what I am calling, the Internet of Partners - effectively the term I’m using for partner collaboration, where partners can augment their own offerings to their customers with capabilities from another. This can help address two of the three objectives we have for all our partner conversations, which are:rhipe_cloud_summit_2016-melbourne-ar8_9604-photo_alextroberts-lo

  1. How can we help our partners’ to improve their top line?
  2. How will we help our partners’ to improve their bottom line? And
  3. How do we help our partners’ to mitigate risk?

Our CSP lounge which hosted presentations from our newly introduced Independent Software Vendors (ISV’s), provided a great opportunity for partners to connect not only with the ISVs and rhipe, but with each other and resulted in a great number of cross-selling conversations.

I don’t think I was prepared for the number of partners that came to me directly after each event and said “wow, I didn’t realise you guys did all of that”. RCS gave us the opportunity to talk to partners not just about SPLA or CSP programs, but also the services provided by rhipe Solutions and the expertise our team has across mobility and desktop, digital transformation, Back-up and Disaster Recovery, IaaS and much, much more.

Events the size of the rhipe Cloud Summit don’t happen easily and we couldn’t have run them as successfully without the support of our vendor partners and I would like to thank Microsoft, Citrix, Veeam, TrendMicro, Red Hat, IBM Softlayer, VMware and LiveTiles for their ongoing support.
